Interaction Installation
Student Project 2023
We live in an increasingly connected digital world, but despite the growing global network, social isolation is reaching an all-time high. This typographic experiment explores to what degree we can expect strangers to interact with one another in order to solve a creative problem. The installation poses the same question that torments today's loneliest individuals... "will you interact with me?"

To create this interactive piece, I took inspiration from carnival cutouts, but instead of using their faces, participants use their arms.
I measured, taped, and cut each letter and corresponding hole by hand.
I left detailed instructions behind each letter, showing participants how to position their arms.
The boards were left in a public place with a simple sign next to them, asking each passerby, "will you interact with me?"
